The Trio, previously unpublished, is probably one of the most unknown works in the Spanish chamber repertoire.

His style, subtly linked to the world of Spanish musical nationalism, is presented with exquisite refinement and perfect instrumental balance. Music that is always elegant, fresh, with a constant flight and a resounding inspiration. The romantic and virtuoso essence of its three movements condenses all the creative potential of a musician who passed away prematurely at the age of 40.

The manuscript of this work is in the Orfeo Català Documentation Center Archive together with other Malats documents donated by his widow, Mercedes Ros.
