Awarded with Spain\u2019s National Prize of Music, the trio was founded in 1996 and named after the Spanish violinist, conductor and composer Enrique Fern\u00e1ndez Arb\u00f3s (1863-1939). Since then, the Trio Arb\u00f3s, based in Madrid, has established itself as one of Europe\u2019s leading chamber ensembles.<\/p>

The repertoire of the trio ranges from the classical and romantic (complete trios by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, etc.) to the contemporary, with specially commissioned works forming a significant part of the concert programs presented. Georges Aperghis, Ivan Fedele, Toshio Hosokawa, Luis de Pablo, Mauricio Sotelo, Jes\u00fas Torres, Bernhard Gander, Thierry P\u00e9cou, Elena Mendoza, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda S\u00e1nchez Verd\u00fa, Roberto Sierra are some of the composers who have dedicated works to this prestigious ensemble.<\/p>

The Arb\u00f3s Trio has appeared frequently in major international concert halls and festivals: Vienna Konzerthaus de Viena, Tchakovsky Conservatory (Moscow), Sibelius Academy (Helsinki), Teatro Col\u00f3n (Buenos Aires), Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Wittener Tage f\u00fcr neue Kammermusik, Kuhmo Festival, Schwetzingen Festival, Bienale di Venezia, Spoleto Festival, MUSICA (Strasbourg), Berliner Philharmonie, Klangspuren, ULTIMA (Oslo), Time of Music (Viitasaari), Nuova Consonanza (Rome), Casals Festival (Puerto Rico), Flamenco Bienale (Holland), Transart (Bolzano), Sintra Festival, Quincena Musical, International Festival of Granada, Flamenco Biennal of Seville, etc.<\/p>

The Arb\u00f3s Trio has recorded 30 CDs for many different labels many of them dedicated to Spanish and Latin American music. Nowadays they only record for their own label SACRATIF. The prestigious magazine Gramophone said of their recording work: \u201cThis disc reaffirms the credentials of Arb\u00f3s Trio as among the most inclusive and forward- thinking of chamber ensembles\u201d. Their work in the realm of flamenco music has been internationally acclaimed. A fine example of it is their CD \u201cTraves\u00edas\u201d in collaboration with the flamenco singer Rafael de Utrera.<\/p>

Their projects Triple Zone and Flamenco Envisioned have been supported by the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung and by the BBVA Foundation.<\/p>

Ferdinando Trematore is one of the most interesting violinists on the Italian and International scene. Trained in Italy (Rome, Cremona, Siena) and Holland (Maastricht) with prestigious teachers such as Boris Belkin, Zakhar Bron, Salvatore Accardo, Pavel Berman or Trio di Parma, he has won numerous international competitions, including the XXX International Violin Competition \u201cMichelangelo Abbado\u201d, the XXXIV International Violin Competition \u201cValentino Bucchi\u201d in Italy, the International Violin Competition \u201cStreichwerk\u201d in Berlin or the XVII International Chamber Music Competition \u201cLuigi Nono\u201d in Venaria Reale (Turin). Since 2025, he has been Professor of Violin at the \u201cManuel Castillo\u201d Higher Conservatory of Music in Seville.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Jos\u00e9 Miguel G\u00f3mez has been the cellist of the Arb\u00f3s Trio since its founding in 1996. As a member of this ensemble, he has performed in leading venues and festivals across Spain and around the world, and has recorded over 30 albums for labels such as Naxos, Kairos, Col Legno, Verso, Ensayo, Fundaci\u00f3n Autor, and Sacratif.
Jos\u00e9 Miguel has shown a particular interest in performing contemporary music. He has premiered numerous works, many of which were dedicated to him. In September 2009, he premiered the Cello Concerto by Salvadoran composer Germ\u00e1n C\u00e1ceres with the National Symphony Orchestra of El Salvador.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Born in Motril (Granada) in 1969, Juan Carlos Garvayo is one of the most active and versatile Spanish pianists today. His intellectually curious personality has also led him to develop a prolific artistic career in other fields, such as music research (focused mainly on the recovery of Spanish musical heritage), music management, including the creation of the acclaimed M\u00fasica Sur Festival, and pedagogy, serving as Professor of Chamber Music by public competition at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
